We recently purchased a Roku to play around with at the Question Defense office. So far the Roku has been pretty slick even though the navigation is fairly slow. After browsing through all of the Channels in the Roku Channel Store we were surprised that YouTube was not one of the offerings available. The good news is YouTube can easily be added and will function as the other Channels on your Roku device. Follow the directions below to add a YouTube Channel for your Roku account.
Someone at work asked me today if I could download a Youtube video for them so they could burn it to DVD for some project. I remembered being able to do this with a Firefox plugin but had forgotten which plugin I previously used. After a quick search I came up with the 1-Click Youtube Video Download Firefox plugin which made the task really easy. Follow the directions below to download Youtube videos.
I recently installed the Youtube With Fancy Zoom WordPress plugin on one of my personal web sites so I could upload and display videos of my daughters. This plugin allows you to upload videos to the YouTube, reference them in your WordPress admin, and then display them in a nice pop up window on your website. This way they are streamed from YouTube but the person visiting your site doesn’t have to leave your site to view the video.
I configured a WordPress plugin on my personal blog site to allow me to embed YouTube videos of my kids to share with the family. The plugin is called Youtube With Fancy Zoom and provides a great way to setup a gallery of YouTube thumbnails that when clicked on will open a YouTube movie in a overlay window. Anyway during configuring the plugin, videos, etc. I was logged in to YouTube and assumed everything was working properly. I emailed the new page to my wife to check out and she let me know that she was not able to view the videos because they were all labeled private. The message stating the YouTube videos were private along with how to share the videos with everyone are both detailed below.
