Restore Trillian Activity History On Windows 7, Import Trillian Chat History

As noted in previous articles my laptops Windows 7 Ultimate x64 operating system install became corrupted after I attempted to install the Windows 7 Service Pack 1 update. I believe the issue was related to some sort of software conflict so not necessarily¬†all SP1’s fault though you would think there would be some form of error checking involved in the install. I waited out the upgrade for over 8 hours but in the end it still failed out. Anyhow during the process of reinstalling Windows 7 x64 on my laptop and installing all of the applications that were installed previously I wanted to restore my Trillian chat history for all of the various Trillian Connections. Below I describe what connections were configured and what Trillian Connections chat logs were restored.

Block ICQ Authorization Requests When Using Trillian

I don’t know why I have never configured Trillian to block ICQ authorization requests before considering I get a couple every single day however I decided today was the day. ICQ authorization requests pop up when someone has requested to add you to their contact list which for me never happens unless I send someone my ICQ number via email or another form of media. Anyhow below are instructions on how to block those authorization requests from popping up all the time.

Install Trillian Off The Record Messaging On Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit

I have been slowly getting everything installed on my new laptop I recently purchased that has Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit on it. One of the applications I figured would work without issue was the Trillian OTR(Off-The-Record Messaging) plugin which allows encrypted communication over ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo!, Jabber, Rendezvous, and Sametime instant messaging clients. Trillian actually has a built in encryption system called SecureIM however Trillian OTR goes way beyond the security provided the built in encryption provided by SecureIM.

How to View Trillian Connection Admin Messages Such as Yahoo Admin

With Trillian you may from time to time get connection admin messages that describe some sort of problem. At times these error messages or warning messages will pop up when Trillian starts and you may be in a hurry to just close them out so you can get on with working. The problem with this is that if the issue needs to be resolved you may not know how to retrieve these messages. One such error could be similar to my last post that described an error with the Yahoo Messenger plugin so in this case the error message came from the Yahoo Admin.
