Setup A VPN Connection In Windows 7, VPN To Office With Windows 7

Setting up Virtual Private Network (VPN) connections to your office is becoming more common as work from home jobs expand. Typically the IT guy at your work should be able to provide you the necessary information needed to connect to your office securely such as IP address to connect to, username, password, and possibly domain. Windows 7: Schedule A chkdsk On Reboot

My Dell laptop has been claiming there is a hard drive issue for some time however when I reboot and let Windows 7 scan the drive it either doesn’t scan the drive or it scans the drive and still claims there is an issue. I believe the drive doesn’t have any major issues and that it has something else to do with the fact that it is a solid state drive. To get past the problem of Windows always claiming that it needs to scan the drive on reboot I scheduled a scan for the next reboot. Insert Special Characters Or Symbols Into Any Type Of Document On Windows 7

I have been working with a couple people from over seas and some of their names include accent marks. While I have heard they would not think it to be disrespectful it still seems correct to include the accent mark over the letter in their name because they do so in their signature. There are various ways to accomplish inserting special characters into most applications but Windows 7 actually provides a way that is built into the OS to insert special characters into all of those same applications. Inserting special characters or symbols into any form of document is easy using Windows 7 or Windows Vista using an application built into the Operating System called Character Map. Windows: Internet Explorer Icon Missing From Start Menu

Awhile back I upgraded Internet Explorer and ever since the upgrade the start menu icon is showing as a generic default icon. I finally looked into what the issue was tonight and first thought that Windows has released a fix for the issue which you would just need to run an installer and it would resolve the issue. That ended up not fixing my problem however by editing the registry via regedit you can resolve the problem after a reboot. Follow the directions below to fix the Internet Explorer icon in your start menu.
