I take a lot of notes when working no matter if it is learning new stuff or working on projects for my job I have found that great note taking can save you lots of time down the road. The note taking application installed with Backtrack Linux is called KeepNote and provides the all of the functionality that I typically need when taking notes such as folders for organization, easy way(s) to backup notes, tabs, and all the other basics. One thing that does not work out of the box for KeepNote on Backtrack 5 R3 is Spellcheck which I use regularly to make sure my slang has not found itself into the notes I am sharing with others. Below we outline a quick way to enable spellcheck in KeepNote 0.7.7 on Backtrack 5 release 3.
Ever since I started using windows I had to switch for irssi to X-chat for my irc client. I know there is a irssi for Windows but it lacked many of the features the Linux version has. So anyway, I am a horrible speller so I decided I needed spell check on X-Chat. Turns out it is pretty easy to do so I decided to make a quick post on the steps.
Spell check is not installed on Windows Notepad++ by default so to make it work you actually have to install a third party application called Aspell. To check and see if Aspell is installed on your Notepad++ version simply open a new document, write a sentence, and then click the spell check button which is shown in the image below.
Restoring your Outlook 2007 dictionary additions is easy but you just need to make sure you can recover the data or you back the proper file on a regular basis. The additions to the Microsoft Outlook 2007 dictionary are added when you Spell Check an email and instead of correcting the spelling you click the “Add to Dictionary” button.
I am sad to say that currently there is not a legit way to turn off Auto Complete on the iPod Touch. Many people might recommend to Jailbreak the Touch so you can modify anything including the auto complete functionality. In my opinion Jailbreaking your iPod Touch should only be done if you have way above average technical skills so this would rule out most people.
There are a lot of people who claim all you need to do is SSH or FTP to your Touch or iPhone and you can modify a file and turn off auto complete. You can only SSH or FTP to your phone if it is jailbroken. Again I would not recommend doing this unless you either have a spare Touch/iPhone or your technical ability is above average.
