F5 Refresh On OSX, Key Combination To Refresh A Web Page On Mac OSX

One thing I do on a regular basis when using web browsers on Windows is to click the F5 button to refresh a web page. On a Mac running OSX this does not function by default however it is easy to add a key combination to simulate this so it functions as it would in Windows. Use the information below to set up a key combination configuration to allow you to click fn-F5 on your Mac running OSX to refresh web pages in Chrome. The function+F5 key combination already works in Firefox and Command+R refreshes web pages in Safari.

Safari Shortcuts For The Safari Web Browser On Windows Operating System

There are many references to Safari shortcuts for OSX on Apple computers but not as many for Safari shortcuts on Windows computers so I figured it may help some people to have a reference for Safari shortcuts on computers running Windows. The below shortcuts have been specifically tested on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and Windows XP Professional 32-bit  but I assume the below Safari web browser shortcuts will work on any version of Windows including all variations of Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows 7. Many of the Safari shortcuts for Apple are identical to the Safari shortcuts for Windows below. There are however many Safari shortcuts that are different because of keys being named differently on Apple keyboards versus Windows keyboards.

If you are not familiar with the Google Webmaster Tool site then click here to explore all of the data that is available to you for each of your web sites. Anyhow in the process of looking around the Webmaster Tools site I noticed a Firefox plugin called Page Speed in the Labs portion of the Webmaster Tools site. This plugin provides similar functionality to Safari’s Web Inspector when combined with the required Firebug Firefox plugin. Below is information on installing the Google Page Speed Firefox plugin as well as basic usage information including some screenshots of the plugin in action.
