Configure KeepNote Helper Applications In Backtrack Linux

I use KeepNote for taking notes in Backtrack. It is important to document progress on projects or simple notes about file locations, specific command switches, or other information that could get lost in the shuffle during a work session. KeepNote provides the functionality necessary to organize notes and search note content as necessary. On Backtrack it is beneficial to configure KeepNote’s Spell Check as well as KeepNote Helper Applications so you can benefit from the full potential of KeepNote. Below we describe some errors you may see when attempting to use certain KeepNote functionality and how to resolve them.

Export Nexpose Scan Templates, Import Nexpose Scan Templates

If you are working with multiple Nexpose vulnerability scanners it makes sense to want to generate a bunch of Nexpose Scan Templates on one Nexpose Seurity Console and distribute to a bunch of other Nexpose Security Console’s. There is not much documentation I could find on doing this so luckily it is fairly easy. Follow the instructions below to first export a Nexpose Scan Template from a Nexpose Security Console and then import a Nexpose Scan Template to another Nexpose Security Console. The scan templates are stored as XML so exporting consists of copying the XML file from the server running Nexpose to either your local machine or to another server running Nexpose.

Transfer Contacts From T-Mobile SIM Card To iPhone

This past weekend my wife’s T-Mobile phone broke and I had an old iPhone 3G that I decided to jailbreak for her to use on T-Mobile’s network. After finally getting the iPhone baseband correct and on the version of the iPhone iOS that I wanted to use I had a couple loose ends to resolve which included transferring her contacts to the iPhone. Luckily most of the contacts had been saved onto her T-Mobile SIM card and after a bit of research I realized it was really easy to transfer contacts from the T-Mobile SIM card to the iPhone by using the instructions below.

Evernote Sync: The Operation You’ve Performed Cannot Be Completed

After recently reinstalling Windows 7 on my laptop I was getting all of my typical applications reinstalled and continued getting a popup error for Evernote after getting it configured. I use Evernote to automatically sync notes I take in Notepad++ remotely to Evernote’s servers so I have a copy of all my notes in real time in a remote location in case anything drastic happens with my laptop. Anyhow I had never seen this error before and all I was doing was syncing the same notes that have been incrementally¬†synced to Evernote for years now. I finally took the time to look in the logs, locate the issue, and easily resolve it by removing the problem notes which I didn’t need any longer anyhow.

Outlook 2010 Email To Field Auto Complete Not Working, Import NK2 Outlook 2010

I recently completed a reinstall of Windows 7 on my Dell laptop and have been having to reconfigure everything for a couple days to get back up and running the same way I was before the reinstall. One thing I decided to actually upgrade in the process was Microsoft Office from MS Office 2007 to MS Office 2010. So far it appears that Office 2010 is much less bulky than 2007 so I am really happy with the upgrade choice even though typically during a reinstall I try not to upgrade many things so if there are any problems it is easier to isolate the issues. One thing that changed in Office 2010 was the nickname cache or the use of NK2 files so you have to actually import your NK2 file into Outlook 2010 for nicknames to start working. Follow the directions below to import your NK2 file into Outlook 2010.
