How To Unjailbreak GreenPoison, Remove GreenPois0n From Your iPhone

I had been wanting to jailbreak my iPhone 4 for quite awhile but since I had upgraded to Apple iOS release 4.2.1 there was not an untethered jailbreak available at the time and since I typically turn my iPhone completely off I didn’t want to deal with the untethered jailbreak. So needless to say when GreenPois0n rc5 was released I was pretty excited. GreenPois0n rc5 made it extremely easy to jailbreak iPhone’s running iOS 4.2.1. After running it for around a month now though I noticed that I really don’t install enough applications outside of what is available via the iTunes App Store to warrant the jailbreak and especially because I have personally noticed that with my iPhone jailbroken it had slowed down a bit. Not only had it slowed down but my battery appeared to be draining much quicker which I assume was from more processes running. I made the decision a couple days ago to roll back to the stock iPhone 4.2.1 firmware to see if my phone started running more efficiently. Below are instructions for rolling back the GreenPois0n firmware on an iPhone 4 to the Apple iOS 4.2.1 firmware release.

This Program Requires At Least Windows 2000 With SPTD 1.60 Or Higher. Kernel Debugger Must Be Deactivated

During the process of cleaning up a Windows 7 Ultimate x64 computer that is used in a development environment I started receiving an error during boot. The error window was titled as DAEMON Tools Lite and specified a requirement for a version of Windows greater than Windows 2000 and an application  called SPTD. I later discovered that SPTD stands for SCSI Pass Through Direct which is actively developed by a company called DuplexSecure and used by numerous applications including DAEMON Tools Lite. Below I describe the pop up error message in more detail and how to resolve it by installing the SCSI Pass Through Direct application.

Vista Codec Package Is Specifically Developed For Any Computers Running Any Version Of Windows Vista

Tonight I was cleaning up a Windows 7 desktop I use for various development tasks by uninstalling dozens of applications that had been installed over time for testing. On this computer I probably keep one application long term for every 20+ applications that I install so you can imagine how messing the Programs & Features list was. Anyhow when attempting to uninstall one of the applications I received an error stating that the application was specifically designed for Windows Vista, Windows XP, or Windows Server 2003 and then would not allow removal of the application to continue. More information regarding the error and how I was able to uninstall the application are included below.

Outlook 2010 Email To Field Auto Complete Not Working, Import NK2 Outlook 2010

I recently completed a reinstall of Windows 7 on my Dell laptop and have been having to reconfigure everything for a couple days to get back up and running the same way I was before the reinstall. One thing I decided to actually upgrade in the process was Microsoft Office from MS Office 2007 to MS Office 2010. So far it appears that Office 2010 is much less bulky than 2007 so I am really happy with the upgrade choice even though typically during a reinstall I try not to upgrade many things so if there are any problems it is easier to isolate the issues. One thing that changed in Office 2010 was the nickname cache or the use of NK2 files so you have to actually import your NK2 file into Outlook 2010 for nicknames to start working. Follow the directions below to import your NK2 file into Outlook 2010.

My Dell Downloads Using Chrome – Application Cannot Be Started, Contact The Application Vendor

After a had a conflict with Windows 7 Service Pack 1 that really slowed my PC down I decided to scrap my current Windows 7 install and reinstall. So far it is the best decision regarding this laptop that I have made in a long time. Not only are things  running much better but I was able to organize a lot better from the start. I needed to install some third party applications that came with my laptop including Roxio Creator Premier 10.3 which I use for burning ISO images and Dell makes these tasks very easy with the My Dell Downloads site. Initially I attempted to download these applications using my preferred browser which is Google Chrome however I received an error which I explain in detail below as well as how to use Chrome to download items from My Dell Downloads web site.
