iTunes was Unable to Load Provider Data from Sync Services

If you are unable to sync your iPod don’t try restoring or anything just yet as the problem might be extremelly simple to fix. I noticed that on my Windows XP laptop that if I plug my iPod into different USB ports that things act differently. I have three USB ports on the back of my Dell d420 laptop and I installed my iPod Touch while using the port in the back all the way to the left. Everything works fine if I sync using this port however if I try using one of the other two USB ports on the back of my laptop I get the following errors.

The first pop up error states the following:
iTunes cannot sync information with the iPod “iPod Name” because syncing has been disabled on this computer. Do you want to enable syncing?
If you do not enable syncing, iTunes will not be able to sync contacts, calendars, bookmarks, or mail accounts to your iPod.

How to Blur a Portion of an Image with Photoshop

Blurring portions of an image with Photoshop is a snap. The most complicated part is figuring out which blur effect you want to use! There are a ton of choices including Blur, Blur More, Box Blur, Gaussian Blur, Lens Blur, Motion Blur, Radial Blur, Shape Blur, Smart Blur, and Surface Blur. My personal favorite for blurring parts of an image is Lens Blur but all of them allow for adjustment as well so you can make the blurring effect more intense or less intense. Click more for images of how to blur a section of your image with Photoshop CS2.

PostgreSQL 8.3: postgres wont start with stats_start_collector = on

PostgreSQL 8.3 changed the way the Query and Index Statistics are configured from previous versions of postgreSQL including 8.2 and below. Things are technically easier now as the stats collecting is turned on by default and there are less commands to enter into the configuration to get all of the stats you will need. I had to look into this problem as I wanted to install some cacti postgres templates and the configuration stated to add the following lines to the postgresql.conf configuration file.

connection to [uds://tmp/lshttpd/example-site:_.sock] on request #0, error: Connection timed out!

I noticed this error during a deployment of numerous servers that were configured with litespeed, postgreSQL, and ruby. The installation process was to install ruby, install ruby gems, install postgreSQL, install litespeed, and then sync up the web directory using SVN. After doing so connect via a browser to the server to test things out. On one server I was getting a “503 Service Unavailable” error. The lshttpd(litespeed) logs looked like the below example.
