Windows: File Is To Big To Be Opened By NotePad++, Use Wordpad As Alternative

In the process of troubleshooting a problem with mysqldump I was viewing MySQL backups using Notepad++. I typically view and edit large files using Linux with vi however in this scenario it was more convenient to view the files quickly from a Windows laptop using Notepad++. The first couple of backups were between 50MB and 100MB and while they were a bit slow to open with Notepad++ they did open without further issue and provided an easy method to search through the files.

Eventually I backed up a database file that ended up being 195MB of pure SQL such as mydatabase.sql. When attempting to open this file with Notepad++ I received the below error.

At first the issue was just the fact that it was taking forever to load all of the images but eventually the below error stopped me from viewing any images.

Evernote Portable: Install Evernote on a USB Thumb Drive

Another handy feature of Evernote I just discovered is the ability to easily install it on a USB thumb drive. This would allow you to take all of your notes with you anywhere easily. The main advantage here is if you have an Internet connection some of the time but not all of the time and you would need access to those notes with or without the Internet connection. Evernote Portable would allow you continue to update those notes via the USB thumb drive and then synchronize with the Evernote system at a later date. Below I will describe how to install Evernote Portable on a USB drive and list some of the details regarding the new installation.
