Use Photoshop To Add More Space Between Letters

Tonight while working on a web site for a client I was generating a header image that needed to be a specific width to fill out the header properly. The font selected by the client had the letters smashed together so I needed to add some space between the letters. I am not much of a designer so I had to play around with Adobe Photoshop until I was able to find the correct settings which happened to be named kerning and tracking. Kerning is used for a single letter and Tracking is used for a group of letters. These options are located in the Photoshop Character palette and can be modified using the steps below.

Use CSS To Make Text Wrap Around An Image, Insert Image In A Paragraph

Earlier today while working on an e-commerce store for a client I was adding a couple simple content pages such as the typical “About Us” page. Anyhow I don’t use CSS on a daily basis so I typically forget the various syntax and/or tags that I need to use to accomplish certain tasks. In this case I needed to add a couple head shot images to the bio section of the About Us page and wanted the text to wrap around the head shot images. This is easy to do but I wanted to note for others and for future reference for myself.

SELinux prevented ruby from reading files stored on a NFS filesytem

While working on a server farm for a client I kept running into some issues with one of the servers. The issue appeared to be a single CentOS Linux server in a cluster of ten CentOS Linux servers configured exactly the same as the other nine CentOS Linux servers was having issues writing to a network storage device. Initially I figured that the CentOS Linux server having the issues had some permission issues with the directory that was mounted to the SAN (Storage Area Network) however after minimal troubleshooting it was verified that the permissions were identical to the other servers. I started looking through other logs on the server having the issue and located some SELinux errors that were noticeably related to the issue at hand. Below I describe where the SELinux error was located, what the specific errors were, and how I was able to resolve the errors on this specific CentOS Linux server.

How To Login To Flash Media Server, Connect To Flash Media Administration Console

Recently I was tasked by a client with figuring out how to connect to their Flash Media Server for administration purposes. I personally have not ever used FMS so I didn’t even know where to begin. After trying to bring up the admin console in a browser on port 1111 and receiving an error as noted below I finally figured out that you must install a package from Adobe and make the connection through that software. I describe below the steps I took to make the connection to the clients Flash Media Server or more correctly the Flash Media Administration Console.

Transfer Contacts From T-Mobile SIM Card To iPhone

This past weekend my wife’s T-Mobile phone broke and I had an old iPhone 3G that I decided to jailbreak for her to use on T-Mobile’s network. After finally getting the iPhone baseband correct and on the version of the iPhone iOS that I wanted to use I had a couple loose ends to resolve which included transferring her contacts to the iPhone. Luckily most of the contacts had been saved onto her T-Mobile SIM card and after a bit of research I realized it was really easy to transfer contacts from the T-Mobile SIM card to the iPhone by using the instructions below.
