I have been using QTTabBar in Windows XP for over a year and have been really satisfied with the functionality it added to Windows Explorer. When I received my new laptop one of the first applications I installed was the QTTabBar and at first it seemed as though things were working without issue. After a short amount of time I realized that there were some issues the most obvious being the fact that every time a Windows Explorer Window was opened the QTTabBar tabs would be blank and most of the time the the QT Tab Standard Buttons toolbar would not be displaying when Windows Explorer was launched. Below I describe the issues I saw having QTTabBar installed with Windows 7 in detail.
I use Cygwin on Windows to make my Windows only computers as comfortable as possible to me. This comfort is provided by the Linux command line utilities that allow me to work. Cygwin provides a way for me to run these utilities from a Windows 7 command prompt. Two utilities that are really useful that are not installed with Cygwin by default are SCP (Secure Copy) and SSH (Secure Shell). Both of these utilities allow secure communication with remote computers. Below I describe adding them to an existing Cygwin Windows 7 installation.

If you have read any of my other articles recently you know by now that I recently received my new laptop which is a Dell Studio XPS 1340 running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit OS. So far I love it and have been learning a bunch of new features related to Windows 7 as well as the Dell laptop. The Dell XPS 1340 has two video card options which include the default Nvidia GeForce 9600M graphics card or the upgraded Nvidia GeForce G210M graphics card. There are a couple differences between them including Hybrid SLI technology which allows you too easily switch between a performance configuration or a battery saving configuration. Below I describe how to easily switch between the Hybrid SLI modes.
Did you recently upgrade your Internet Explorer to version 8 and maybe got a little overwhelmed with all the new features? Some of the new features of Microsoft IE8 are great however in my opinion there is to much bloat. It appears that Microsoft has gone a little overboard trying to integrate in all of their MSN Live properties into your desktop. One of the annoying features is the little blue boxes called Internet Explorer Accelerators that pop up every time you highlight something on a web page. Even after uninstalling all of the IE Accelerators a faded out little blue box pops open just to let you know that Accelerators are still available. Below I describe how to completely disable Internet Explorer 8 Accelerators.
