I am fairly new to using a MAC OSX laptop as a daily driver and the one I am setup with is running the latest and greatest Lion. One thing that annoyed me when I first started using this laptop was the fact that scrollbars did not always display so I would have to resize the window to scroll in some scenarios. Use the directions below to enable scrollbars to display at all times on OSX Lion.
Enable To Always Display In OSX Lion:
- Open System Preferences: First open the System Preferences by clicking the Apple icon in the top right corner of your desktop and select System Preferences to display the below configuration window.
- General Preferences: Click the General icon in the top right corner of the System Preferences window to display the General Preferences as displayed in the below example image.
- Modify Scrollbar Settings: As you can see the default setting is Automatically Based On Input Device and you will want to change the radio button from that to Always as shown in the below example image.
Now all of your application windows will always display scrollbars in Lion so you don’t have to modify the window size to display the scrollbars.
