I have been playing around with some different configurations on my Nintendo Wii lately and needed to find out the specific firmware version and/or system menu version on the Wii. It is really easy to find this out but I wanted to note it so next time I needed to find out the Wii system menu version I wouldn’t have to hunt around. Follow the directions below to locate the system menu version on the Wii.
Locate Wii System Menu Version:
- Power On Wii: First power on your Nintendo Wii and press A past the initial boot warning so you arrive at the Wii Channels window as displayed in the below image.
- Click Wii Options: Now click on the Wii Options button located in the lower left corner as shown in the below image. The Wii controller hand icon marks the location of the Wii Options button.
This will open the Wii Options window as displayed below.
- Open Wii Settings: The Wii Options screen has two buttons which include the Data Management button or the Wii Settings button. Click the Wii Settings button on the right side of the screen as shown by the Wii controller hand icon in the second image of step two. This will open the Wii Settings screen as displayed in the below image.
- View Wii System Menu Version: The Wii system menu version will be located in the top right corner of the screen as marked by the Wii controller hand icon in the below image. In this example the Wii system menu version is 4.2u.
This is all you have to do to locate the Wii system menu version which is sometimes also referred to as the Wii firmware verrsion.
informative post. I hope you continue writing such good stuff
Hello DS Game Download,
Thanks for the nice comments and for taking the time to leave feedback. We hope to continue to write articles that help others resolve technical problems. One that I should be writing in the future regards playing regular DVD’s on a Wii. I have completed doing this and made the notes to write the article but have been unable to find the time to write it yet. :) Anyhow please check back often as new articles are posted on a daily basis. We are always open to article suggestions or feedback of any sort(positive, negative, critical, encouraging, etc.) on articles already posted.
Thanks.
alex
