Google has a great new feature from its Google Mobile App that will allow you to search Google with your voice. I explain how to install Google Mobile App and the contents of the application itself in a Question Defense article located here. One of the feature mentioned in that article that I wanted to expand on is the ability to search Google using your voice. This makes searches from your BlackBerry device much easier. Use the directions below to search Google using your voice.
Search Google on your BlackBerry Using Your Voice:
- Launch Google Mobile App:First launch the Google Mobile App from your BlackBerry home screen.
- Perform Google Voice Search:Now simply hold your talk button (green phone icon) down and say the search term or terms you want into the cell phone mic. Make sure to hold the button the entire time you are talking into the microphone. Once done saying the search term let go of the button and wait a couple seconds for the results during which time you will see a “Working” message on your BlackBerry screen.
- Perform Another Voice Search: To perform another search just hold the talk button again and repeat the steps above.
You can configure a couple items relating to Google Mobile App Voice Search such as turning it off, enabling a convenience key, etc.
