For some reason today I could not scan an item on our Brother MFC-5890CN printer to my Windows 7 laptop today at the computer shop. It has been a couple weeks since I needed to scan something to my computer however it has never had a problem in the past. Today though when I attempted to scan a document using the Brother ControlCenter3 software it failed to connect to the Brother printer. The interesting thing is that when I attempted to configure the device remotely using the same Brother ControlCenter3 software it worked without an issue. I initially thought it was some form of firewall issue either on my computer or on the firewall at the computer shop however that was not the issue. Below I describe the error in more detail as well as how I resolved the problem.

Earlier today I needed to scan in a receipt at the computer shop so I needed to configure the Brother MFC-5980CN all in one printer on my laptop. I seemed to always end up at the same place which was I could type in a password or swipe my fingerprint but when the attempt was made to automatically login to Windows XP a error would pop up stating that no fingerprints were active for this user. Once I clicked the OK button on the error I could swipe the exact same fingerprint and I would login to Windows without issue. Below are details regarding the error, other steps I attempted to resolve the issue, and the final steps that resolved my problem.

Over the past couple months there have been numerous UPC bar code scanners available for install on your iPhone via the iTunes app store all of which seem to not function so well. Recently I noticed a UPC bar code scanner titled Red Laser that blows all of the competition out of the water and functions really well.

The UPC bar code scanner applications for the iPhone all have the same similar features which include launching the application, clicking the scan UPC code button, focusing with the camera on a UPC bar code, waiting for it to register, and then viewing results. The results of the various applications differs however many use Google Products or Amazon to provide pricing of the product you have scanned the UPC bar code on.

Recently I was working to organize a bunch of images on my iPhone including figuring out the best way to add and manage Photo Albums. Needless to say I was connecting and disconnecting the iPhone from a Windows XP laptop over and over again. At some point in the process Windows started popping up an error when I was attempting to view the images via the Scanner and Camera wizard. At first the issue was just the fact that it was taking forever to load all of the images but eventually the below error stopped me from viewing any images.
