While working on a friends computer he asked if I could install the printer software for his Brother printer so I downloaded and attempted to install the Brother MFL-Pro Suite onto his computer. After downloading and unpacking the software I clicked down into what I thought was the correct folder and attempted to run the Setup.exe file to install the Brother printer software but I received an error which is explained below along with the correct information for installing the Brother MFL-Pro Suite software.

Brother IS015 GetMiscInfo – 1 Error:

IS015 GetMiscInfo - 1 Error

The above error was received after drilling down into the unpacked folder called mflpro to the “data\disk1″ folder. After looking around a bit I realized I had opened he incorrect Setup.exe and that the correct one should be in a folder titled by the Brother printers model number. In this case the printer was a Brother 290c so the correct path to the Setup.exe was “mflpro\Setup290c\”. When using the correct Setup.exe the the Brother MFL-Pro Suite software installed without issue.

Thanks for this post. I had the same error. It is indeed not the setup.exe within the Disk1 folder, but the one wthin the Setup490cw folder.

    Great!
