With the release of Backtrack 4 final a few days ago I decided to make a post on installing backtrack in VMware. There are many ways to run backtrack including a hard disk install, a USB boot install and of course as a live cd. My preferred method is with VMware so I decided to document my steps in case there is any one who would like to install in this way.

I wanted to disable some keys and rearrange some other keys on my Dell Studio XPS 1340 laptop. The keyboard on this laptop is the most comfortable feeling keyboard I have ever used however there are a couple key locations, one specifically, that have been causing me issues because of the way I type. Before I explain how to make the keys on any Windows computer do whatever you want them to do I also wanted to mention that this is the first laptop I have ever had with a back-lit keyboard so I can finally work in a completely dark room with no windows! Below I describe and display a application that can easily be used to make keys on your keyboard function in any way that you want without having to run a third party application at all times.

A client of mine purchased a new laptop running Windows 7 64-Bit OS and needed to have the Panasonic DP-2330 printer they have at his office installed for use. Panasonic has only released beta Windows 7 64-Bit and Windows 7 32-Bit drivers for the Panasonic DP-2330 printer. Even though the drivers are beta they are working without issue after install. Follow the directions below to download the drivers and install them on your Windows 7 computer.

I’m not quite convinced that Evernote can scale by embedding files in the notes. Also, my files are organized in a directory structure that I would like to retain outside of Evernote. Therefore, I would like to add an Mac alias or Windows shortcut to my file/folder inside the note. Unfortunately, the link feature in Evernote does not accept file links, only web links. So, this was my around it and worked quite nicely:
