Hello Casey,

Even after running fixpng on the images they still are invalid? That is bizarre. I have never seen that before though I have not been using it lately because I haven’t had a need so I wonder if something changed recently which started causing all your issues. If I happen to run into this again I will update the comments here but if not I would love to hear what the solution is once you find one!

Trying in Photoshop but I get an error message that it is not a valid png file. As a temporary work around I’m adding the pictures I need to my camera roll via iFile… It doesn’t allow transparency but at least I have something to work with.

Hello Casey,

I see what you are saying now. You are using the fixpng application noted above? Also are you using Photoshop to view them or? If Photoshop or similar you might check into the Image Mode (ie: CMYK, RGB, etc.) to see if that makes a difference.

Really curious what the solution is so if you have a moment let me know once you get it resolved.

The issue isn’t on my phone, it’s the reasult after I try converting. I place the blacked out images extracted from my phone in the png folder, hit convert, and the images in fixed folder show up with the bottom 1/2 of the image being blank white and the top half the color channels are off. I’m converting images I’ve done on previous systems so I’m not sure why its suddenly not converting properly. I think I might have done the previous ones while I was still on Windows XP. Using Win 7 now and I’ve tried running in compatability mode but the images still only show up half white. Any other suggestions?

Hello Casey,

Did you try un-theme-ing your phone to see if that resolves the issue? If it does then the issue is incompatibility with the two. I am guessing that is it but if not let me know.

This program used to work great for me. I recently began theme-ing my iphone again and now when I place a file in the png folder only 1/2 of the image shows up in the fixed folder and the colors are off. please help.

Hello mark,

This article specifically relates to pulling images off of a hacked iPhone via SCP/FTP or similar where the images have not been converted. I believe the images are in a different format than Windows applications understand.

Hello drewukeeper, I have personally never used .NEF files however it sounds from your description that it must be some other form of issue since it has worked fine in the past. I know I could resolve the issue if I had the SD card or the files in a zip file or something but I am not sure I am going to be much help without the files or the SD card. Anyhow my first suggestion would be to take the SD card out of the camera and attempt to use some other form of SD card reader. If you have one built into the computer that would be the best solution however you could also purchase a USB SD card reader from pretty much any electronics store or Amazon. Below is an example of a fair priced one on Amazon. Kingston 19-in-1 USB 2.0 Flash Memory Card Reader FCR-HS219/1 If that doesn't work let me know and I can attempt to throw out some more ideas. If it does work and you can get the files off the card and onto the computer and you still end up having issues then I can definitely help from there. You could send me one of the .NEF files and I can write instructions on how to convert them into a format that can be used by other applications. Hope that helps. Thanks. alex

Help if you can! I am trying to remove pics from an SD card, 4 gig. It’s in my Nikon D80. Never have a problem but now the raw images will not copy! I have copied so many in the past but it’s kaput. I can view the pics on the camera, and I can also see them on the monitor when I connect the cable to the cam, but I can not copy them into the destination folder. They are .nef files, raw format. I get the error “could not complete your request because the file-format can not parse the file”. Not sure what to do :(
