i just did that and now my internet doesnt work. whats should i do? please help

    Hello kiril,

This will break tethering if that is what you are talking about however tethering was never an option offered by ATT. This will get your phone visual voicemail back and functional.

If you are talking about Internet on the phone itself I suggest doing a complete reboot to see if that resolves the issue. If it does not then please post as many details as possible regarding your issue such as errors, how you know the Internet is not working, and any other information you can provide.

    Thanks.

Thanks! I had 19 missed messages (9 from executives that I am collaborating with on high-level projects). This simple fix may have saved a lot more than you realized. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out why, when I left meetings or walked off stages, was there no voicemail???!!

I’ve just responded to all voice mail – the oldest was from 1/22 (about 2 weeks ago). That’s when I did my update and left the tethering profile in place.

    This, literally, saved my bacon.

    Thank you Alex.

Thanks so much! I was wondering why I wasn’t getting my voicemails and I had just recently got rid of my jailbreak (so tethering was a no-go) but I had no idea they blocked VV from actually working!

    Thanks again :)

    Hello Zach,

No problem. I am glad the article helped you out. I think breaking Visual Voicemail was probably an unintended side effect of blocking tethering. The actually initially released the tethering block right before enabled MMS picture messages on the ATT network. My theory is they were doing whatever they could to cut down on bandwidth usage on the network because they were scared the release of MMS was going to overwhelm the ATT 3G network. Just a theory though!

    Thanks.

  8. Jim says:

It finally dawned on me a couple weeks ago that it was kinda weird that no one was leaving me voicemails anymore. I finally had time to look this up today and fix it. I’m embarrassed to admit (but I will anyway) I had voicemails that I didn’t know about starting in mid-September. eeek. Thanks for the fix. Now people won’t think I’m weird when I say “I saw that you tried to call me” but don’t reference the message that they left.

    Hello Jim,

I think a lot of people got stuck in the same situation so I wouldn’t feel to bad at all. Just glad that Visual Voicemail is working properly with your iPhone on AT&T’s again! Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback.

    Thanks.
