Hello arush,

That would indicate that TFTP is not installed or is not located in the PATH of the user attempting to run the command. Are you attempting to run tftp as root? If you are not running as root try that first but if that does not work you likely need to install TFTP which can be done using the below command.

bash# yum install tftp tftp-server

Hope that helps.

Thanks.

Nevermind. I found the answer. It looks like the tftp server is not in the 5.7 i386 repos. You can get the rpm directly from the 5.6 repo and it works.

See this CentOS forum post:

Alex,

Good article.

I'm doing tftp to support PXE booting to install OSes across my network. I've got DHCP and PXE working just fine.

When I do yum install tftp-server I get the following output from yum:

No package tftp-server available.
Nothing to do

What am I missing? Is there something wrong with my repos? I'm running CentOS 5.7.

It sounds as is you just have not installed TFTP. You might try installing something like atftp via your favorite package manager.

Thanks.
